7What are the main types of concrete sealers?
Our concrete sealers can be broken down into two main categories, reactive penetrating sealers and topical coatings. Reactive penetrating sealers will be products that soak into your surface, creating protection within the surface treated. Topical coatings will form a film, creating a barrier over the surface you applied it to.
8Differences between Industra-Gloss SB, Industra-Gloss 350 & Industra-Gloss WB?
Industra-Gloss SB is our non-VOC regulated solvent based acrylic. You will receive a gloss appearance with a “wet-look” upon application. Industra-Gloss 350 is the VOC compliant version of our solvent based acrylic used in low VOC locations. Industra-Gloss WB is our water based acrylic. You will receive a lower gloss in comparison to the SB and 350, and a lower change in appearance to your substrate.
9Should I choose V-SEAL 101 or V-SEAL 102?
V-SEAL 101 can be used on any porous concrete, brick or stone. V-SEAL 102 should be used specifically on broom-finish concrete and porous block. If you are looking to cure a new broom-finish pour, the V-SEAL 102 passes the ASTMC309 curing standards and can be used as a cure and seal for that surface.
10Application restrictions for the V-SEAL 101 & V-SEAL 102?
In order to apply the V-SEAL 101 or V-SEAL 102, you must make sure your surface is clean and dry. Temperatures must be above freezing for the duration of the application and drying process.
11What preparations should be completed before using an epoxy coating?
When applying our epoxy coatings, you must first prepare the surface to allow adhesion of the coating. The surface needs to match a 220 grit or lower equivalent from a diamond grinder. The surface should be cleaned to remove any oil or grease and then allowed to dry completely as well. These steps are required to ensure the surface is ready for the application, if you do not complete these, you have a high chance of product failure.
